In November 2011 in Milan it was decided to establish EHC Global Forum which is nothing more than a declaration of a friendly and effective cooperation among four organisations in terms of sharing forces to conduct missions, proper training and build medical units for the treatment of CHD in different countries.

The four organisations are: La Chaîne de L’Espoir (France), Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo (Italy), Chain of Hope (UK) and European Heart for Children.  They receive funds through corporate, individual, institutional or public donations.

The theme that unites them all is transparency towards their generous benefactors who can never be thanked enough.

EUROPEAN HEART FOR CHILDREN

Global Forum

The forum operates with rigorous, transparent, solid and impartial principles. Once an area or a country in need has been identified, we try to establish contacts with the local institutions (public hospitals, national cardiac societies, politicians, etc) and professionals with the aim to start medical missions (to prove that “it can be done”) and to facilitate a training programme for doctors, nurses, technicians, etc. Thereafter we explore the possibility of developing an ultimate sustainable centre. The infrastructure required often includes buildings, equipment and human resources. The latter is probably the most lengthy and difficult process which requires a coordinated effort. Continuous educational programmes (through missions and scholarships) are an integral part of the Global Forum programme.

Once all of this has been achieved, sustainability becomes of utmost importance as does staff retention. Sustainability requires sufficient funds from the local government, insurance companies, members of the community and of course our generous benefactors, regardless of how small these contributions might be.

European Heart for Children (EHC) Global Forum: together we are stronger.

The route that we wish to follow is not an easy one, but we are convinced that together we “can” and we “will” prevail.

Together does not only mean the four organisations.

Together means more than 700 people who are involved in our various humanitarian activities, thousands of people who are supporting us and more importantly YOU who are reading this  which outlines our success so far, dreams and future projects.

We need your understanding and help.

Thank you

Alain Deloche, Roberto Ferrari, Alessandro Frigiola, Magdi Habib Yacoub
